yay! all works fine now! The last 3 hours was to find out the actual email setup that I changed to suit the old setup. So here's what happened (the one that fixed of course): - mail folder location was changed from its original setting to the one that I wanted
- it turned out that a server-side mail filtering was set during the operating system re-installation, and it still pointed to the original location
- DNS expired and the firewall had missed its part to open up that port
- Checking mail remotely also had its access closed from the firewall
The built in mail filter (also spam and virus filter) rocks! I bow to the open-source community to make this happen. So with this new reinstallation, the task to re-filter email in order to be classified as spam is no longer that much (until further release update) Have a great day everyone!
