Well well, suddenly it is May 4, 2009 already!!! What had happened since my last post? A lot of things I say
First and foremost, I am still studying towards my CCIE. However, instead of CCIE R&S lab preparation only, I am also doing more readings on storage. This is one chunk of interesting topics to get hold on to. Why storage? Isn't voice, security and service provider track is the hot topics nowadays in networking world? Hold the phone my friend If you noticed today's data population speed, you would have noticed that storage is the next big challenge to overcome by many (most!) IT people. Ask yourself, how quick can you fill a 30 GB storage today? How about 60, 100, 120 or even 250GB of data? I bet once you start paying attention to it, you will be whacked by the fact that "oh yeah, I just realized that my x GB hard drive keep nearly full every y period" -> ha! told you so! How to overcome this storage 'issues' then? Easy (to say): if you can separate your old junk and your new junk, then you will gain more space easily. Hey, isn't that the same as clearing your house from those old stuff that you keep over years? Now, then you also realized that your habit of keeping data is the same habit of yours in keeping things in your real life -> another ha! For me, I might have been able to live 'simple', in the sense that I could live with minimal tools for daily life. You know, those x number of clothes for work, going out, sleeping, etc. The utensils to eat, cook, etc. Those other things to keep you clean and hygiene, etc. I can live with very minimal quantity of those. However, I am a bit paranoid in ensuring that the past data that I have exist as I wanted them to be. Mostly about references, snapshots, and my life's history trails (hmmm, I thin it is time for me to start letting go of that trails. I don't always look it up anyway) So, here goes, I will try to clean up my (data) space and make more room for future growth (yeah, I know, the same philosophy that turned Peter Pan into adulthood, but this is different story, okay?) The other things that happened in my life are just the usual things: doing work, completing projects, enjoying life as how it goes, doing some (very light) social acvities as I am trying to pin down my CCIE, etc. How about you reader? I noticed that several blogs that I followed occasionally seldom ask their reader on how they are (were) doing. If you have a blog that repond to this one telling me how you are doing, feel free to link it up in the response below. What???? You don't have blog setup somewhere? Worry free my friend, just leave a comment below and I'll be happy to guide you on how to setup one (and feel free to tell me how you are all doing out there). Till then ...
