Some of us keep saying about 'getting the big break', or 'hitting the jackpot', or 'waiting for the right opportunities', or other things that is in fact 'passive'. What do I mean by 'passive'?
In case you didn't notice: 'getting', 'hitting', and 'waiting'. Those words are passive activities! If you are 'getting' something, someone (or something) must be 'giving' it to you. If you are 'hitting' something, you must wait for something else to return you the result. If you are 'waiting' for something, then you are obviously ... waiting! A.k.a, doing 'nothing' do get the right opportunities! Let me narrow it down to the 'hitting the jackpot'. I had a quick discussion about this some time ago and honestly I am both like it and dislike it, more on disliking it actually In case you haven't been to a jackpot machine, or a machine that can give you a jackpot prize, here is the simple mechanism of it: you 'hit' something, in hope that the result is the jackpot. Too much time wasted! ... or at least I don't like to do it that way ... Let's change the point of view in the opposite direction: what if you can make a jackpot, with or without you hitting it? I am not offering a get-rich-quick scheme through this article (ha!), but I am more on giving you folks a reality check. Yes, it is true that it may be nice to win a jackpot (or jackpots), but while waiting for that to happen, make yourself the jackpot! Change your mindset to be the jackpot machine: let others tried their luck in you and in turn you are giving them a hope that you will give them the jackpot. Here is the interesting thing: if you are that 'jackpot' and giving people to place bet on you, you will surely will try your best to make that jackpot happens! Will that stress you out? Maybe ...
Will that make you happy? Who knows ... But one thing for sure, those folks that had the 'big break' or 'hitting the jackpot' have done it that way. I am talking about the Silicon Valley folks, 'richmens', or all example of the wealthy guys that you may see as a good example of 'yeah, they have hit the jackpot' (there you go!, now you get it!)
In case you didn't know, try reading those books about those folks' biographies (or auto-biographies), they must -at least- wrote something about giving out some idea and promise to return the investment of others into their idea that will be the 'next big thing'. Those hopes were the spark that keep the idea alive! Those hopes were the reason that Silicon Valley or other place live the life to the fullest! Those hopes were the base of human economics that have brought us to today's live.
If we could try being the jackpot for another, that means we are not just waited and wasted our gifted talents.
If we could just try doing one thing at a time that will make a small movements in our surrounding life's, I bet your life will be much more meaningful. If you start reviewing 'what is your life worth doing now, or soon', I bet you will start having those 'sparks' that you had when you were young, or when you were kids. Have fun being a jackpot to others!
