... or rather Dwi vs 'the' machine? Very Happy

I have been having high uptime since high school, and for some people following the same regime will end up in lack of sleep (not lack of rest, because for me sleep and rest are two different things).

Interested to find out the result?

Here I am now, nearly two-decades later, still doing high uptime but with adequate rest times here and there.

When I engaged in work assignment, especially for the one requiring 'endurance' mode, I tend to adjust with the asynchronous bio-rhythm. At times, this means lack of sleep (but good power nap!), and still producing optimal outcome.

However, human are human, and machine are machine. Even with tons of competition of man vs machine out there, not many of the competition covering endurance-mode competition.

It may be true that machine tend to produce near 0 error, because they have been configured/ programmed that way. But there are machines that has tons of hogging process built into it and resulted into near-human-multi-tasker.

Yes, I am talking about a computer operating system! Very Happy

With the generic desktop (or server) OS out in the market, there are tasks that general operating system can't cover due to the nature of the work.

Human, which naturally a very adaptable creature, will always able to survive this task-specific job, because we can change our complex mind to work into single-tasking activities. For example, we don't want to be disturbed when we are eating (or maybe during having sex will made us assured that we will have no disturbance). Once the task-specific job is done, we can switch back to the multi-tasker again.

Unlike human, machine tends to rely on certain parameter. Computer won't even turn on if there is not enough power supplied to its all system, left alone booting it up Smile

Human can prolonged their hunger if they are focussing on certain things for a long period of time.

The key to compare man vs machine on this matter is on the power source and backup power source.

Ah hah! Does it mean if we equip machine with backup power source, it can then properly work for endurance-test? Sadly, I am not sure on the correct answer for this question.

Back to the topic, Dwi vs a machine. Who had won?

Dwi!!!! Why? Because the machine that Dwi is using screwed up after having high uptime.

Yes, I am talking about Microsoft Windows 7 that supposedly can handle a lot more multi-task application, but it gave up around 20 minutes ago.

Score for this challenge:

Dwi's uptime for endurance mode for over 9 weeks with minimal sleep.

Machine's reboot had happened numerous times that goes beyond comprehension, aka: forced reboot.
