Ok, here I go again. I am now entering the routine of practicing my CCIE lab after hours and weekends.
It has been two days that I fiddle around with GNS (dynamips, dynagen, etc bundled in a nice GUI -> well done folks!). I am using the .net file (link at the bottom of this article) for my Internetwork Expert Workbook (IEWB) from my 4.1 release of the workbook (hang on there IE folks, I will get the latest copy from you guys soon after I am over this warm up!) In case you would like to use it for your practice as well, right click on the link and choose download. A couple of gotchas that you need to be aware of: - change the 'working dir' and 'image' location to suit your setup,
- make sure your dynamips port and console are set appropriately according to your setup,
- the .net file that I provided below will be kicking 4 dynamips processes, so don't be surprised if you see 4 instances of dynamips running while using this .net file,
- each router will have console running at port 2000+router_number. Therefore, R1 will be using console at port 2001, R2 will be using 2002, etc.
