Two days ago I was queuing at the ATM to do some transaction ... well just a simple cash withdraw that should take less than a minute or two.
Yeah, you read that right 'queuing' at the ATM in here (South Bay, California), if it doesn't sound right, read on ...
Upon arrival at the parking lot, I saw a lady in her car behind me (no, this is not a drive-through ATM facility). So I quickly get out from my car before that lady jump in front of 'my' queue. Why? Because from inside the car, I saw two person using the ATM (and thus it become full house!), and the other guy just left.
So I walk in an acceptable steps towards the ATM 'queue' line (you know, the invisible line where people pretend to be the 'yellow' line that thou shalt not cross?)
Further on, that lady now queuing after me (yup, I am the first in line ... but still queuing).
Now here's what makes the queuing a wonder of the world: those two guys using the ATM seemed like 'lost' or they may have tens of ATM cards that they need to deal with.
The first guy is a kind of looking where to press, what to press, which to press, while the other guy is having quick transaction ... but with around 4-5 cards (I tried to track whether they were the same card or not, and seemed like three different cards).
Not long after there is a short comment with a tap on my hands from the lady behind me "I never have thought that queuing in the ATM will take this long in my life ...", I tried to be polite, but yet I chuckled ...
I told her "well ... those two seemed like enjoying themselves in front of the ATM machine ... and they seemed like playing games or some sort. Maybe if they win the game, only then they will be allowed to proceed with their transaction, ha!"
Both of us just chuckled many times as the seconds counting.
Not long after, the one of the guy left, the one that seemed 'confused' on the buttons. Then I whisper to the lady behind me "wish me luck ...", then she couldn't stand it and just laugh abruptly and tried her best to stop right after.
When I did my transaction, true to what I know, only a minute or two and I was done.
... and guess what? the other guy was still there doing his transaction!!! :O
When I approached that lady again on my way out, I whisper to her "I beat his record, I won first shot!"
Now ... by the time I was leaving the parking compound and waiting for the traffic light to turn green, can you guess what happened? The second guy was queuing to cross the traffic light. However, this time he kept pressing the 'cross' button while the pedestrian crossing light was already in 'walk' sign (what the .... ??? :O )
From there I could only conclude, something wrong in that guy's head
