If you refer to my post about What I wish to have in Adobe Acrobat Reader, I found one of the answer for point 1 and 2!!!

Here are the tricks:

• If you have a document opened in Adobe Acrobat Reader, and suddenly your computer crashed, then just re-open the document again and hit [ALT]+[left_arrow]
• Tada!!!!! You are back in the last page that you were on the last time you open the document!
